Tradition Rooms

Located on the upper level of Wedmore Place with dormer windows, the Tradition Rooms of the hotel, provide a warm, inviting setting augmented by more rustic furnishing and antiques. All rooms feature wood-burning fireplaces, king-size beds, antique work desks, and the unmistakable charm of a European vacation at Wedmore Place.

Classic Rooms

Classic Rooms offer more spacious settings, averaging 300 square feet. They are appointed with antiques and art works sourced from the very region for which the room is named. As with our Tradition Rooms, each Classic room offers a wood-burning fireplace, king-size bed, and an antique working desk. However, with the many distractions at Wessex Hundred, you might find it difficult to ponder working while here...

Superior Rooms

Our Superior Rooms increase the room square footage to spaces between 325 sq. ft. to 430 sq. ft., providing the guest with ample room to truly make oneself feel 'at home'.  Again, a wood-burning fireplace is featured in each room surrounded by an authentic antique stone mantle sourced from the appropriate region in Europe. Of course, a king-size bed, furnishings offering work areas for those so inclined, and high-speed internet access are provided.

Tuscany Suite

Offering over 500 square feet of living space that includes a spacious sitting room, open hearth wood-burning fireplace, and a floor-to-ceiling Italian tapestry.  Note the traditional Tuscan colors as you enter the sitting room and then into the bedroom. The view from the bedroom overlooks the surrounding pine trees and the Wessex Hundred pond; for a brief moment, and perhaps more, you are no longer in Virginia, but have been magically transported to Tuscany.  Enjoy the antiques and furnishings that add to the ambiance; take special note of the bedroom entrance door and European-sourced period hardware.  We caution you, though...you will be so enchanted with Tuscany that you may not want to leave.

Acquitaine Suite

An impressive 700 square foot+ suite offering classic French elegance that will take your breath away once you view the large sitting room as you make your way through the entry foyer.  An 11' X 14' mural dominates the room in an understated fashion. The carved stone mantle surrounds the operational wood-burning fireplace and the antique work desk set 'just so' to the windows offering a wonderful view of the pine forrest behind the hotel.

The large bedroom offers a view over the pool terrace, and a wonderfully spacious and intimate double Jacuzzi bath. As with all of Wedmore Place's rooms, you'll find a king-size bed, antique furnishings, and high-speed internet access.

Venetian Suite

To date, not one single guest of the Venetian Suite has entered this 1,100 square foot+ room without commenting 'oh my'.

The suite is a duplex, offering views to the Wedmore Place courtyard and operating fountain sourced from Provence. There are baths on both levels, an anterior room with fold-out bedding for the nanny, an impressive 28 foot ceiling with hand-painted murals and floor to ceiling columns that will whisk you to the wonders of Venice without ever having left Virginia.

Add the fascinating array of antiques, an entry foyer exposed by remarkably intricate hand-carved antique doors sourced from Europe, and you have one of the most truly remarkable rooms in any hotel in the State.  Do yourself a favor, and indulge yourself for an evening or two in the sumptuous luxury of the Venetian Suite during your visit to Wedmore Place.
